As always, we’re running behind. I don’t know what it is but this family can never get out of the house on time. Even if we get up and moving an hour early, we’re most likely still going to be late. Our flight was at 11:47, the airport is an hour away and we left the house at 9:30. Luckily the airport we flew out of is very small and getting through security and to our gate was a breeze. We arrived at the airport at 10:30. It was a grab and dash to check our bags and kids items at the counter. In larger airports I’ll gate check our double stroller but feel its not necessary to push it through a small airport. There was hardly any line at TSA and we all made it through with out a single bag searched.
We made it to our gate with plenty of time to fill our water bottles and wait for the arriving plane to deboard. Our 2 hour and 40 minute flight went really well. If i had to pick the worst part about it I would say the little bit of turbulence we experienced here at there. Even Brielle did really good for her very first flight at 4 months old.

We arrived at SRQ in Sarasota at 3:47. This airport was really easy to navigate. We found baggage claim and as we waited for our luggage Brandan went to pick up the rental car from Alamo right behind us. We choose Alamo because they don’t charge a deposit when you show them a return flight itinerary. Once we got the car and luggage, we headed straight out the doors and into the rental car parking lot. We loaded up the car and headed to our Airbnb in St. Petersburg which was a 56 minute drive.
Since it was getting late by the time we arrived at the Airbnb we decided to settle in, get unpacked, and head to Publix for groceries for the next few days, and make dinner. I will say that publix is not the best place to shop if you are trying to save money but it was closer than Aldi or Winn-Dixie. Thats all for the first day. Not much excitement, I know but traveling wore us all out and we were ready for bed by the time we got there.
